AMD's Radeon RX 9070 has finally made its debut in Steam's Hardware Survey, marking a significant milestone for the RDNA 4 GPU architecture. After nearly a year of anticipation, the RX 9070 now holds a 0.22% share, becoming the first RX 9000 series entry in the monthly GPU chart.
This development comes as a relief to tech enthusiasts who have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of RDNA 4 GPUs. The delay in Steam's survey data has sparked various theories, including potential issues with GPU identification when multiple cards are installed or when integrated graphics are active. These factors may have contributed to the underreporting of AMD's RX 9000 series in previous surveys.
In the December 2025 survey, the RX 9070 takes its place alongside other GPUs, including the Intel HD Graphics 4600 and AMD's RX 5500 XT, which have low market shares. Interestingly, Steam's chart still doesn't list the RX 9070 XT or any RX 9060 models, leaving room for future updates.
Among the current-generation GeForce cards, NVIDIA's RTX 5070 leads with a 3.05% share, followed by the RTX 5060 (2.21%), RTX 5070 Ti (1.94%), RTX 5060 Ti (1.74%), RTX 5080 (1.68%), and RTX 5090 (0.60%). These cards dominate the chart, surpassing the RX 9070's 0.22% share.
However, older mainstream GPUs still hold a significant presence. In December 2025, the RTX 3060 topped the chart with a 6.53% share, followed by the RTX 4060 Laptop GPU (5.85%) and RTX 4060 (5.84%). The RTX 3050 (4.53%) and GTX 1650 (4.25%) complete the top five slots.
Two broad Radeon labels, 'AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics' and 'AMD Radeon Graphics', also saw growth, with the former showing a 3.49% share (+1.25%) and the latter at 2.69% (+0.78%). These labels can represent various iGPU and dGPU models, as the survey relies on user participation and aggregated data, potentially including AMD-powered gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck.
